Note: I had this on Vimeo briefly, before it was removed for copyright infringement. So... now I have no idea if or when I might get it online again. (It's rather too big a file to upload directly to my site, as I've done with my other vids.)
This is my nineteenth AMV for Avatar: The Last Airbender, made in October 2006, for Halloween. I used the song "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus (hence my terrible pun for the vid's title). In the closing credits of the vid, I used a font called Buffied. The vid uses scenes from various episodes, but most are from "The Cave of Two Lovers." I think I intended scenes from other episodes to be flashbacks, or something, but honestly I don't think I had much of a narrative in mind beyond the main part of the video, which was about the gaang being lost in a cave. (If I did have any narrative concept for the other clips, I've long since forgotten it. But probably I just needed more creepy images... some of which I thought more or less fit the lyrics, but some were just random.) But anyway... one thing I like about the vid is that for the scenes in the cave, I used an effect that made it look grainy, like old movies. I guess I used some other effects in other scenes, like some of them are in black & white. And one clip kind of zooms in and out a bit. I'm not sure what else to say, except it's a long vid (10:30), and the singing doesn't even start until 3:06.
Oh, and I remember posting it on the Distant Horizon forum, and I think another member, The Blue Chibi, said something like "Avatar+Bauhaus = a new way of looking at life." Or something. I always really liked the response, whatever it was exactly. Unfortunately, I can't find the thread where I posted the vid; it may have since been purged from the forum. Sigh.
