At this point, I have no recollection of either of these characters' names being based on anything, but they could have been, I suppose. I will say it amuses me that I made up a place called "Tree Town," I have no idea where I got that idea from, but now it puts me vaguely in mind of Pokemon (New Bark Town, Littleroot Town, Twinleaf Town). Of course, Pokemon wasn't around til years after I made this up. I also find it amusing that Zack's handkerchief clearly has an "MB" on it, just like those worn by all of Muggar's Boys. Clearly, he doesn't care that everyone knows of his affiliation, because they're all too afraid to do anything about it. Though I'd kind of like to see Sheriff McSlick or Judge Zima make a comment about it, sometime.
