Halloween 2024

September 1
I discovered a song called "It's Halloween!" on YouTube. The song itself isn't very Halloweeny, but it's got some nice Halloween visuals. So, I added it to my playlist of Halloween videos.

October 1
I watched The Frighteners.

Oct. 2
I watched Slotherhouse.

Oct. 5
I tried my first can of "haunted apple" soda from Fanta, which is a tie-in to "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice". I think it's pretty good. Really tastes haunted.

Oct. 6
I re-watched the 2000 DCOM Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire, and rewrote my review.

Oct. 8
I watched Children of the Corn.

Oct. 10
I watched Elvira: Mistress of the Dark.

Oct. 11
I watched the short film Laura Hasn't Slept, in anticipation of watching "Smile". But then I decided not to watch that movie tonight. I should definitely get to it sometime soon, though.

Oct. 12
I watched Umma.

Oct. 13
I watched the Simpsons' new Disney+ short, "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year". And I watched this year's Broken Peach Halloween special, Call Me. It was good, but aside from the group's skeleton costumes, I don't think it was especially Halloweenish. Then I watched episode 5 of "Agatha All Along", which I think was the spookiest episode so far. I also decided the other day to proclaim this week "vampire week", so I'll be watching vampire movies every night. Tonight (Sunday), I'm starting with Dracula's Daughter. Then I watched a video from MsMojo, Top 10 Most Wholesome Halloween Movies.

Oct. 14
I watched the special Family Guy episode Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Cheater on Hulu. Then I watched "Organ", the final of four episodes of American Horror Stories season 3, which were released last October. So I'm really late finishing that part of the season. Tomorrow they're releasing five more episodes in season 3. Also tonight I watched roughly the first half of the 1979 miniseries "Salem's Lot".

Oct. 15
Back in 2019, I watched Halloween episodes from the first two seasons of "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" on Amazon. I was going to watch more seasons' Halloween episodes, but never got around to it. But today I watched the Halloween episode from season 3 on Hulu, and added it to my Halloween episodes page. It was pretty cheesy and ridiculous, as the show pretty much always is. Then I watched the remainder of Salem's Lot.

Oct. 16
I watched the first episode of the 2020 anthology series "Monsterland". It was pretty disturbing. Not sure if I want to watch the rest of the series, but I might try at least one more episode. Later I watched Blade: House of Chthon.

Oct. 17
I watched Embrace of the Vampire. Then on YouTube I watched a video from MsMojo called Top 10 Underrated Spooky Halloween Movies of the 2020s. I had seen one of the movies on the list and already planned to see some others someday, but several of them I'd never heard of.

Oct. 18
I watched What We Do in the Shadows. Later I watched this year's Halloween short from arieScope, The Pet Sitter.

Oct. 19
I added the music video "Frankenstein" by Qveen Herby and Tech N9ne to my Halloween videos playlist. In the evening I watched Son of Dracula, wrapping up vampire week.

Oct. 20
I watched Late Night with the Devil.

Oct. 21
I watched Hold Your Breath.

Oct. 22
I watched the season 4 Halloween episode of "Sabrina the Teenage Witch". I'm pretty sure I never watched that season. Anyway, Salem wanted to read horror stories he'd written, but no one wanted to listen. Hilda and Zelda got Edgar Allan Poe to read to them instead, but that didn't go as they hoped. Meanwhile, Sabrina got a job at a coffee shop, and was left alone for a couple hours on only her second night working there, which seems improbable. But anyway, the place was soon overrun by zombies. Because why not?

Oct. 24
I watched the movie Bad Hair.

Oct. 26
I guess last year General Mills introduced a new monster cereal, Carmella Creeper, but I don't remember hearing of it until this year. Couldn't find any monster cereals in stores this year, so my sister ordered me a box online. I had my first bowl of it this morning, and it was... alright. I'm really glad I get a chance to try it. Later, I watched the Halloween episode of "Zombies: The Re-Animated Series". Later still, I watched Mr. Crocket.

Oct. 27
I watched an episode of "Bullseye" called Do Millennials Know Horror Movies? Later, I watched the first of this year's five episodes of "American Horror Stories", called "Backrooms". And then I watched Immaculate.

Oct. 28
I watched Army of Darkness.

Oct. 29
I watched A Nightmare on Elm Street 5.

Oct. 30
I listened to a Halloween CD by Mannheim Steamroller. Later, I watched the new Hulu movie Carved. Then I watched Idle Hands.

Oct. 31
Started my day with a bowl of Carmella Creeper. Later, I watched the 2021 Halloween episode of "Gabby Duran and the Unsittables", which I just happened to be up to in my watching of the series on Disney+. That was fun. I liked Wes's deviled egg costume. Then I watched Ernest Scared Stupid, on YouTube. And a bit later, I started drinking some Pumpkinhead. And I watched the 1952 short film "Trick or Treat" on Disney+. Then I listened to some music on my Spotify Halloween jams playlist. Later, I watched Halloween III. And I watched a "Descendants" Halloween short from 2019, Wicked Woods. It wasn't bad, but I don't think I'll bother doing a review, or anything.

November 1
I watched Scooby-Doo! and the Monster of Mexico for the Day of the Dead.

Nov. 3
I watched the 10th anniversary "Over the Garden Wall" stop-motion short film.

Nov. 4
Last night, Treehouse of Horror XXXV aired, and today I watched it on Hulu. This brings us to the end of spooky season, but of course I'll continue watching the occasional horror movie, year-round.
