Christmas season 2024

July 25
For Christmas in July, I finally got around to watching the 2021 special Trolls Holiday in Harmony. That was fun. Then I watched I'll Be Home for Christmas, which was less fun.

November 12
I watched a new 4 minute Disney short film on YouTube, called The Boy and the Octopus. It was cute.

Nov. 15
I watched a Christmas music video by Kylie Cantrall and added it to my Christmas music playlist on YouTube. (I don't expect to mention it here every time I do that with new videos, but I thought I might as well mention the first one of the year.) Later I watched a new short film, An Almost Christmas Story.

December 2
I added some holiday ads to my Christmas ads 2023-2024 playlist. (There was one ad I couldn't put on the playlist, but I linked to it on my Christmas commercials page.) Also, Beth put up the fake Christmas tree today. Later, I watched an episode of the YouTube series "Bullseye" called 100 Question Holiday Trivia!

Dec. 3
Today I saw a video called Twelve Days of Grogmas, from Critical Role. It was really funny. Later, I posted it in the Music Exchange.

Dec. 5
Someone unexpectedly dropped off a real tree for us, so Beth took down the fake tree and put up the real one. At night I watched Silent Night, Deadly Night for Krampusnacht.

Dec. 8
Today I have done something I've been thinking of doing for quite awhile, which is to separate my Christmas songs YouTube playlist into three separate playlists for songs from different eras (20th century, 2000s-2010s, and 2020s). I've also added a bunch of new songs to the playlists today as well as over the last however many days, I dunno. But anyway, it's been quite a project, and I feel good about it. Later I watched the 1994 remake of Miracle on 34th Street. I originally meant to watch it two years ago, but my executive dysfunction prevented me from doing it then, and I didn't get around to it last year, either. So I'm glad I've finally watched it.

Dec. 10
I watched Merry Little Batman, which came out last year. At the time, if I recall, I was considering getting Amazon Prime just so I could watch that. Well, that and other things. Whatever. But I didn't. Then this year I just happened to have a free month of Prime, so I watched it.

Dec. 11
Watched a short on YouTube called A Very Sonic Christmas. It was cute.

Dec. 13
Because today is St. Lucia Day, I tried my first bowl of Gingerbread Toast Crunch cereal. It was good. Today is also Friday the 13th, so I might watch a horror-ish movie later. ...And I did. I watched Violent Night.

Dec. 15
I watched a short film called "Le Pupille" on Disney+, but I didn't like it well enough to bother writing a review. Then I watched a short film on YouTube called Up on the Housetop, which I also didn't like enough to write a review.

Dec. 16
I watched Jingle All the Way.

Dec. 17
I watched a 2019 TV movie called A Christmas Movie Christmas.

Dec. 19
I watched a 2022 movie called A Christmas Mystery.

Dec. 22
Some carolers came by this afternoon. I was playing Pokemon in another room, but I heard them well enough. Later I watched a Simpsons Christmas special on Disney+, O C'mon All Ye Faithful. And I watched Prancer: A Christmas Tale.

Dec. 24
I watched the Christmas episode of "Bluey" season one, and added it to my Christmas episodes page. Later I listened to A Very Special Christmas 7. Later some more carolers stopped by, and I got a Christmas card & cash from Eileen. Then I watched the 1951 movie Scrooge, while drinking some Sam Adams holiday beers (including, of course, Old Fezziwig).

Dec. 25
Beth and I (mostly me) cooked turkey and other stuff for dinner, and whie it was cooking all four of us opened presents. Later I drank some peppermint bark green tea from Republic of Tea (a free sample packet I had received awhile ago), and I had it in my new snowman mug that I got as a present today. And I listened to a CD, Maybe This Christmas Too? After the tea was gone, I drank some peppermint hot chocolate while watching the Christmas episode of "Zombies: The Re-Animated Series". That was fun. And I got an Amazon gift card via e-mail from Nancy.

Dec. 26
The new Ladybug ornament I ordered recently arrived today. It's a lot smaller than the picture, of course. Also, I watched the 2016 Christmas episode of "Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir", Santa Claws.

Dec. 30
Received a calendar and a card with a check from Alan and Brenda. And I watched this year's Doctor Who Christmas special, Joy to the World. It came out five days ago, but I just got around to it now. I also watched a 1945 short film called "A Christmas Dream", which was cute and inventive, but I still don't quite feel like writing a review of it. Anyway, Christmas was a bit incidental to the plot.

January 8
Four ornaments I ordered the other day during Hallmark's clearance sale arrived today: The Joker (from "Batman: The Animated Series", which I ordered because it reminded me of the "Christmas with the Joker" episode), Ahsoka Tano, Jack Skellington's head in a Santa hat, and Grogu (from "The Mandalorian"). That last one has some sound and motion effects, but I didn't realize it needed a power cord that's not included. So I ordered that today, along with another ornament. I added the ornaments I received today to my My ornaments page. Oh, and we took down the tree, today. So my ornaments won't be going on that this year. (Well, maybe next Christmas, which will be this year. Whatever.)

Jan. 16
My order of a power cord and Dalek Sec (from 2022) arrived today. Tried that out, along with my Grogu ornament. Good stuff. And now they're packed away.
