Based on a comic book story which I haven't read. The movie features a lot of voice actors reprising their roles from the DCAU, but I'm pretty sure the movie isn't part of that continuity. It begins with the Justice League- Batman (Kevin Conroy), Superman (Tim Daly), Wonder Woman (Susan Eisenberg), Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Flash (Michael Rosenbaum), and Martian Manhunter (Carl Lumbly)- stopping a robbery by the Royal Flush Gang. The gang had been using a piece of technology the origins of which the gang themselves didn't know. But Cyborg was on hand to help the Justice League try to figure that out. When Batman returned to the Batcave after that mission, a villain called Mirror Master (Alexis Denisof) secretly hitched a ride in the Batmobile, and subsequently downloaded files from the Batcomputer. What those files were, we don't actually learn until much later in the movie, but you could probably guess. (Or you could just read the back cover of the DVD case.)
Anyway, a villain named Vandal Savage (Phil Morris), who is many thousands of years old, calls together a team of villains, each of whom has a grudge against a different member of the Justice League. Savage himself has nothing against the League, but he has a plan that could be stopped by them, so he offers the villains a ton of money to eliminate them. (Together, they become the Legion of Doom.) Mirror Master will take out Flash, Bane (Carlos Alazraqui) will take out Batman, Metallo will take out Superman, Ma'alefa'ak (probably the only character I don't think I've ever heard of) will take out Martian Manhunter, Cheetah (Claudia Black) will take out Wonder Woman, and Star Sapphire (Olivia d'Abo) will take out Green Lantern. With all of them out of the way, Savage reveals his larger plan to the Legion, though I won't say what that plan was. Of course, Batman manages to escape his own demise and help save his comrades, but later he reveals a truth which they consider shocking (but which anyone who knows Batman should have just taken for granted). Anyway, they all work together to stop Savage's plan, again with help from Cyborg. That's all I wanna say about the plot, but it was a really good story.
