Caution: spoilers.

This is a 2005 direct-to-video sequel to The Emperor's New Groove, which I'm watching for the first time in 2013. Um... most of the movie I thought was kinda "meh," but there were at least a few real laughs. And I liked the final part better than the earlier parts.

It begins much like the first movie, with Kronk in a bad situation (as Kuzco was in the first movie). And then flashes back to see how he got into that situation. He's a cook at a restaurant, and everyone loves him, and he's happy. But then he gets a letter from his Papi, who's coming for a visit. All Kronk has ever wanted is to make his father proud by getting a wife and a house on a hill, neither of which he has. Though he tells his waitress a couple of stories. The first is how he once got a house, by working with Yzma again (after she'd been defeated at the end of the first movie). She had a scam that she tricked him into helping her with, but of course he eventually figured out that it was a scam, and did the right thing, which meant giving up his new house. The second story was about how he and his Chipmunk troop were in a competition against another troop, which was led by Miss Birdwell, with whom he fell in love. That seemed to go well for awhile, but eventually it all fell apart. The third part of the movie was when Papi finally showed up, and all Kronk's friends tried to help him fool his father into thinking he was "successful." Which leads to some really redonkulous comedy, as well as the bad situation from the start of the movie. Of course the truth eventually comes out, but there's a happy sort of It's a Wonderful Life type of ending.
