This came out in 1999, and I must have first seen it on TV sometime in the early Aughts. I watched it again on Blu-ray in 2024, the night before Halloween (Mischief Night). The movie was a box office bomb, and did poorly with critics, but I like it well enough. I mean, it's not great, but it's fun.

It starts with a married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Tobias (Fred Willard and Connie Ray), going to bed and finding a scary message on the ceiling, written in glow in the dark paint, or whatever. And before too long, both of them get killed. The next morning, their son, Anton (Devon Sawa) gets up and goes about his day, which basically just consists of watching TV and using a small marijuana pipe concealed in an inhaler. After awhile, he goes to visit his friends Mick (Seth Green) and Pnub (Elden Henson). They encourage him to go talk to a girl he has a crush on named Molly (Jessica Alba). But he's too shy to talk to her. After he goes home, he finally discovers his parents' bodies, and freaks out. Mick and Pnub then show up, and they all find clues that suggest Anton killed his parents. He then kills his friends, but not by choice. He can't control his right hand, which suddenly has a mind of its own.

Meanwhile, a woman named Debi (Vivica A. Fox) is searching for someone with a possessed hand, and determines that he is in Anton's home town. So she goes there to look for him, and meets up with a guy named Randy, whom Anton had gone to earlier to ask for help, believing him to know about demonic stuff because of the music he listens to. Randy tells Debi about Anton, and they go to his house. But Anton had by this time cut off his hand, and it escaped, going to a Halloween dance at the high school, where Molly was waiting for Anton. (Man, I am getting so much out of order here.) Because they had hooked up at some point, and now the hand is after Molly. Debi and Randy follow Anton to the dance, where the hand has started killing people. And Anton has to try to save Molly.

That's all I want to reveal of the plot. I'm leaving out a huge part of the plot to avoid spoiling it. But anyway... the whole movie is ridiculous in numerous ways, and there were a few jokes I found mildly offensive. But for the most part, it's just... fun.
