Caution: spoilers.
This is the sequel to The Addams Family. It got worse reviews than the first movie, but I think I liked it slightly more. (Then again, if I ever re-watch the first movie, I might like it more than I did the first time I saw it.)
It begins with a science fair, in which Wednesday uses DNA from a squid to briefly make Fester smarter. She's disappointed when all the kids in the fair win just for participating. But her brilliance is recognized by a wealthy scientist named Cyrus Strange (Bill Hader). Later, Gomez worries about Wednesday spending less time with the family, so he decides to take the family on a road trip across the country. Before they leave, a lawyer named Mr. Mustela (Wallace Shawn), shows up and claims Wednesday was switched at birth with another baby. Gomez and Morticia think Wednesday hired him as a joke, but when she claims to not know who the man is, they don't tell her what he said. As the road trip progresses, one night she overhears them talking about it, and believes it makes sense, since she doesn't think she has anything in common with the rest of her family. Also throughout the trip, Fester slowly metamorphoses into a giant squid-like creature, though it's quite awhile before anyone notices.
Cousin Itt joins them on the road for awhile. And Grandmama throws a party back at their mansion. But I don't think either of those plot points need elaborating on. But Mr. Mustela and a large goon are constantly following the Addamses, and Wednesday eventually catches him and gets him to tell her what's going on. It turns out he works for Cyrus Strange. So Wednesday and Lurch leave the family to go to Strange's home, where a DNA test seemingly proves she's his daughter. She helps him complete a scientific project he was working on. When the Addamses show up to take Wednesday back, she doesn't want to go with them. However... that eventually changes, for reasons I won't go into.
And I guess that's all I want to say about the plot. There were a few bits of humor that I liked a lot, while most of the humor was just sort of okay. And the overall story was just okay, but again, there were bits I liked enough to slightly elevate my rating of the movie.
