my favorite movies ever
(see also favorite books, TV shows, and web series)

Years ago, I started a page for my favorite TV shows, and I've long thought I should get around to doing the same thing for movies. But I kind of felt like I should have reviews for all the things I'd list here, but there are some favorites for which I don't have reviews, because I haven't seen them since before I ever started reviewing things. But finally I decided I might as well start the page anyway, and whenever I get around to re-watching and reviewing some things, I can add links here. Meanwhile, I'll try to just include any movies I give at least two and a half hearts, or maybe in a few cases just two hearts (or anything I'm sure I will rate that highly when I get around to reviewing them). I hope I don't forget anything. (You'd think if something is a favorite, I wouldn't forget about it, but that's just because you have no idea how terrible my memory is.) However, there may be some movies I rated as two and a half or even three hearts, but which I don't include here. On the favorite shows page, I didn't explain that, but now I think I might as well say... there may be some movies that give me major feels when I watch them for the first time, but if I go back later and look at my review and see that I rated them really highly, I'll be like "Yeah, but... I'm not as inclined to watch them again, at least not as often, and some of the other movies I call favorites." This may, to some extent, be because movies I saw when I was young have the advantage of nostalgia, but then again, some movies I've seen for the first time much more recently really do wow me enough to immediately think of them as not just movies I love, but truly things I can call "favorites." And some... don't. (This is, of course, subject to change.)

In a truly bizarre turn of events, there may be some movies about which I'm deeply nostalgic, and might almost consider being among my favorite movies when I think about them, but which when I rewatch, I may still like them a lot, but don't really love them. So, I probably won't list those movies here, even if it causes me a little pain to exclude them. But there are definitely some movies I might rate, say, three smileys and yet care more about than I do some movies that I rate three hearts. This fact drives me crazy, but it can't be helped. (In fact, I think I'll give such movies honorable mention.)
