I don't know what the fuck I just watched, but it has a good cast. It's based on a novel by Thomas Pynchon, which I haven't read. And it's set in 1970. I really couldn't explain the plot to you if I tried, so I'm not going to. It was just confusing and hard to follow because there were several plot threads that seemed simultaneously random and interconnected. And there were too many characters for me to keep straight in my head. It was certainly interesting, though I feel like it might make more sense if you're doing drugs while watching it. Honestly, the only thing I really want to say about the movie is that the main character, a P.I. named Larry "Doc" Sportello (Joaquin Phoenix) looked like Wolverine. And that it reminded me of a cross between The Big Lebowski and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" (though I don't remember anything about the latter film).
But anyway, the movie was (mostly) pretty well reviewed by critics, so what do I know?
