This is the first sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, and takes place after Avengers: Endgame. Peter Parker and his whole class are going on a trip to Europe, where he plans to tell MJ how he feels about her. Meanwhile, Nick Fury tries to contact him, but Peter continuously refuses to take the phone call, because he'd rather concentrate on the trip. However, Fury does finally get ahold of him, and wants Peter to team up with a new superhero named Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal), who eventually starts going by the name "Mysterio." Elemental monsters have attacked a couple different places in the world, and there are two more attacks in Venice and Prague. Fury also gives a pair of glasses to Peter that had been given to him by Tony Stark to give to Peter. The glasses contain an AI called EDITH, which give Peter control of a fleet of drones, among other abilities. Together, Spider-Man (wearing a new costume and going by a different name) and Mysterio defeat the final Elemental. And I think that's about halfway through the movie.

Beyond that, I really don't want to spoil anything that happens. I will say I thought all along that it was strange to see Mysterio as a hero, because I've only ever heard of him being a villain. Anyway... the movie has plenty of good humor and drama and action and whatnot. Plus there's a mid-credits scene of huge importance, which basically ripped my heart out. (But I did think of it as a kind of neat ironic twist on the "EDITH" acronym.) There's also an amusing post-credits scene. And a decent short film as a bonus feature on the DVD, "Peter's To-Do List," about preparations he made before leaving on the class trip. And... there's so much more I wish I could tell you without spoiling things. I really thought it was an awesome movie in a lot of ways.
