Josie (Sophie Turner) is a high school girl who moves into a room at the Pink Motel, whose other apparently permanent residents include a loner named Hank (Dylan McDermott), and a married couple named Gordie (Kurt Fuller) and Martha. Josie immediately starts a friendship with Hank, who is obviously attracted to her, but uncomfortable with that fact. She also starts a relationship with a high school boy named Marcus. He and Hank already didn't like each other, and things only get worse as Josie comes between them. Meanwhile, Gordie and Martha are concerned about what they think might be going on between Hank and Josie. I gotta say, most of the film is kind of boring, even if it kept me wondering where exactly the plot was heading. But I didn't see the final revelation coming until maybe moments before it came. And that one revelation is more or less the only thing that I thought made the movie interesting. All in all, I'm not sure if it can be considered worth watching just for how it ends, but at least since I watched it anyway, the end made me feel like I hadn't completely wasted my time. And I don't know what else to tell you.
But there's a terribly twisted irony to this whole thing that I fear may be lost on Josie. (Or maybe she just doesn't care.)
