Leonard Part 6 (PG)

This came out in 1987. I saw it on TV sometime in the late 80s or early 90s. At the time, I may or may not have been aware that it was a major flop and pretty much universally panned, but either way, I would have wanted to make up my own mind about it. Now, all these years later, I don't remember what I thought of it. I have a feeling I might have kind of liked it, but probably not much... and it's possible I didn't like it at all. I don't remember much about the plot, except that it was a spoof of spy movies, starring Bill Cosby. The one thing I really remember is that I firmly believed it was the sixth movie in a series. In fact, the title is a joke, and I'm sure anyone I talked to back then tried to convince me there weren't five other "Leonard" movies before it, but I was adamant in my belief. (Now I kind of wonder if that might have been an early symptom of Asperger's, or something... this need for the title to reflect reality, in spite of understanding that the movie was an absurd comedy.) Anyway, I suppose for some years I have thought I might like to see it again, so I could write a review. But now... I definitely don't intend to ever do that. (Partly because I'm fairly sure I wouldn't like it at all now, whether I did as a kid or not. But mostly because I can no longer stomach the idea of seeing anything starring Bill Cosby.) Still, I wanted to make a little entry for it, for the sake of nostalgia (even if I never really cared about the movie), more so I could relate the thing about my thinking it was an actual series, than anything else. So, now I've done that. And hopefully I'll never have to give it another thought.
