Caution: spoilers.

Alice and Dan, who were both in the previous movie (but I had forgotten them by the time I watched this movie), are now dating. They graduate high school, and plan on going on a trip together. However, that never happens, because Freddy Krueger returns to haunt Alice's dreams and starts killing her friends one by one. Then Alice learns she is pregnant with Dan's baby. She also starts seeing a young boy named Jacob, who doesn't actually exist yet as such, but turns out to be a manifestation of Alice's unborn baby. (Which actually shouldn't even be developed to the fetus stage yet, as far as I could tell from the timing. But I could be wrong.) It's also through the baby's (embryo's?) dreams that Freddy was able to return, which I think is pretty ridiculous, because at that point it shouldn't have been nearly developed enough to be dreaming, let alone manifesting as a child. Meanwhile, Alice realizes that to stop Freddy, she'll have to find, like, the corpse of his mother, Amanda, for some reason. How that helps, I don't really know. I mean, it releases Amanda's ghost, but she doesn't really do anything other than encourage the manifestation of Jacob to turn against Freddy, who he thought was his friend.

Well, I feel like I've already given away too much of the plot, but I don't really care that much. The movie did have maybe a few neat visuals or ideas in it, but mostly I just found it ridiculous. It was really hard for me to suspend disbelief, with this one. I feel like it didn't even make sense in dream logic.
