This came out in 2003, but I didn't see it until 2024, on the Day of the Dead. I didn't really like most of the movie, but I think it got a bit better toward the end. Just a bit.

Fred gets an invitation to visit his pen pal, Alejo Otero, and his family in Veracruz, Mexico. Fred brings the whole Mystery Inc. gang along. I think they went there like a day or two before the Day of the Dead, so it's kind of weird that the only mention of Halloween is the Mexican holiday being like Halloween, but not the fact that it takes place immediately after Halloween. Anyway, Alejo's town is being terrorized by El Chupacabra, and the gang try to figure out why. And that's all I care to say about the plot.

I mostly found the writing subpar, and only liked a little bit of the humor. The mystery itself was entirely predictable and boilerplate. Still, I'm glad to have watched the movie, just because I want to be as complete as I can with the franchise.
