So, I don't want to say too much about the movie. There's a couple, Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie Wagner (Rose Byrne), who decide to become foster parents. They end up with a teenager named Lizzy (Isabela Moner) and her younger brother and sister, Juan and Lita. Pete and Ellie often attend a foster parent support group led by social workers Karen (Octavia Spencer) and Sharon (Tig Notaro). And despite the title, the family isn't exactly "instant." Pete and Ellie have a lot of ups and downs with their foster kids, especially Lizzy. That's really all I want to say about the plot, but it's a good movie, with plenty of humor and drama, and heartwarming moments, especially at the end.
