This 2014 short film was presented by Dust in 2017.
This has a sci-fi concept, but I mainly see it as a comedy. Two parallel universes are collapsing into each other, and one by one, people begin to meet their "doubles" from the other universe. The film begins with one man, Booker, coming home and finding a photograph of himself with a woman from work on whom he has a crush, though they have never really met. Also, he has two toothbrushes, for some reason. Throughout the film, we periodically see Booker discussing the oddities of the whole doubles situation with a friend of his, who seems to have wilder speculation about it than Booker himself does. But it's still all very matter-of-fact.
Anyway, Booker's crush, Vera (Brea Grant, whom I know from Heroes, but failed to recognize here), is dating a man... who ends up killing his own double, for reasons I won't go into. After that, Vera takes time off from work, but her own double shows up and is given the original Vera's job. Booker's boss asks him to take the new Vera out to lunch to talk about work stuff, I guess, and the two of them end up hitting it off, and start dating. And beyond that, I don't want to say anything about the plot. But it does have a sort of interesting/confusing ending. And the whole film was reasonably amusing, in a dry sort of way.
