#TheLateBatsby (4:26)
DC Database; IMDb; Wikia; YouTube

This short was released in theaters alongside "Teen Titans Go! To the Movies" in July 2018. It's essentially a remake of the "Time Waits for No Girl" episode of the DC Nation shorts series "Super Best Friends Forever," from 2012, (though the earlier short has a different villain than this short, and only three heroes instead of six). Like "Super Best Friends Forever," this short film was created by Lauren Faust. The short was uploaded to YouTube in January 2019, which is when I first saw it. It was followed a week later by a new series of webisodes called DC Super Hero Girls: Super Shorts, which is a companion series to Faust's TV series DC Super Hero Girls, which began in March 2019, on Cartoon Network. (Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see that series yet, but I have been keeping up with the webisodes.) It should be noted that "The Late Batsby" and both the TV and web versions of Faust's series is a different continuity (and a different animation style) from the earlier webseries that's also called DC Super Hero Girls. (You manage to follow all that?)

So, Barbara Gordon is lying in bed at night, totally bored. She gets a call from Wonder Woman, who tells her about an attack by Mr. Freeze. Barbara wants to join Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Bumblebee, Zatanna, and Green Lantern in fighting Freeze. But her father doesn't know she's Batgirl, so she has to wait for him to fall asleep before she can leave the house, which makes her totally impatient and frustrated. Once he finally goes to bed, Batgirl makes a mad dash through the city, avoiding countless obstacles, hoping to arrive at the scene of the battle before it's all over. I won't say how it ends, but... the whole short is pretty cute and amusing and also pretty cool.
