Disney Fairies shorts
There are numerous short "Pixie Previews," set within the Tinker Bell franchise. (Though I think the newer ones are maybe no longer referred to as Pixie Previews.) Some may have been originally presented on TV, or online, or on DVDs, but I don't really care about all that, I'm just going to list any of them that I've seen here, under "short films," regardless of where they originated or where I personally first saw them. I think the first time I saw one was on the Secret of the Wings DVD, and didn't really think much about it other than that it was odd for it to be called a "preview" if it's not actually a preview of anything. Because they're not, they're just self-contained short stories. And I never really thought of the first one I saw as being part of a series of shorts until I saw five others on the DVD of Return to Never Land. That's when I decided to start this page. Since then, I also saw two shorts on the Pirate Fairy DVD, plus some others on a Walmart exclusive bonus DVD that came with it. The main short on that disc was "Pixie Hollow Bake Off," but it included ten other shorts.
Of course, there are a bunch of others that I still haven't seen. You can find a list of them on the Disney Fairies Wiki, but there are even more that aren't listed on that site. You should be able to watch most of the shorts on Disney Video or on YouTube.
I can't really rate the shorts, but they're all fairly cute and amusing, I guess. And I'd caution you about spoilers, but... I don't think it's really that important.
Aaarrgh! (1:09)
The fairies are enjoying a day at the beach... specifically Peg Leg Point. And they all start doing their best pirate impressions, though Vidia refuses to do so. It's totally redonk, but funny. (On "The Pirate Fairy" DVD.)
Dust Up (1:16)
Disney Video; YouTube
Tink and Iridessa are transporting a wagon load of pixie dust. Iridessa is worried about it, but Tink is certain the carrier she made won't lose any dust. Tink is mistaken, however; the dust ends up covering numerous woodland creatures, who begin flying around in what looks kind of like a cross between synchronized swimming and ballroom dancing. (On "Return to Never Land" and "Bake Off" DVDs.)
Fawn and Games (1:01)
Disney Video; YouTube
Fawn gets tagged by Vidia, so now she's it. She chases Iridessa, who manages to stay just out of reach... (On "Bake Off" DVD.)
Fright Light (1:03)
Disney Video; YouTube
Cheese the mouse and Blaze the firefly are being chased by a pack of rats, and end up hiding in a Jack-o-Lantern Tinker Bell had just finished carving. Blaze's light, uh, lights up the Jack-o-Lantern, which scares the rats away. (On "Secret of the Wings" DVD.)
Hide and Tink (1:16)
Disney Video
The fairies are playing hide and seek. Iridessa soon finds Silvermist, Fawn, and Rosetta; but Tink is a better hider. (On "Return to Never Land" and "Bake Off" DVDs.)
If the Hue Fits (1:16)
Disney Video; YouTube
Tink is mixing up dyes for Rosetta to use on autumn leaves, but she can't get red quite right. (On "Bake Off" DVD.)
Just Desserts (1:01)
Disney Video; YouTube
Fawn is eager to get a honeycomb cake from a sparrowman who is delivering them. But first she goes to tell all her friends about it, finally looking for Tink, whom she can't find. By the time Fawn gets to the delivery man, all the cakes are gone... (But don't worry, it has a happy ending.) (On "Return to Never Land" and "Bake Off" DVDs.)
Just One of the Girls (1:01)
Disney Video; YouTube
Vidia is being uncharacteristically nice to her friends... but why? (On "Bake Off" DVD.)
Magic Tricks (0:46)
Disney Video; YouTube
Clank impresses Bobble with a few magic tricks... one of which involves a suspiciously familiar playing card. (On "Bake Off" DVD.)
Pixie Hollow Bake Off (5:23)
Disney Wiki; IMDb
I guess this aired on TV in the UK, but I saw it on the Walmart exclusive bonus disc that came with "The Pirate Fairy." It's the main short on the disc, which includes 10 other shorts, a few of which I'd already seen elsewhere. Anyway, there are a group of baking fairies, the main one being Gelata (her voice is provided by Lisa Faulkner in the UK version and by Giada De Laurentiis in the US version). The baking fairies always make the exact same cake for Queen Clarion's Arrival Day party, for the last 399 years. Tinker Bell has an idea for a different kind of cake, which Gelata takes as a challenge... hence, the bake off. Tink and her friends vs the baking fairies. In the end, Tink's cake looks totally awesome, but... looks aren't everything.
Rainbow's Ends (1:18)
Disney Video; YouTube
Tink, Rosetta, Silvermist, and Fawn have fun sliding down the rainbow Iridessa has just made. When Des comes back and finds they've messed it up, she's upset, but the joke turns out to be on them, in the end. (On "Bake Off" DVD.)
Scents and Sensibility (1:01)
Disney Video; YouTube
Tink, Iridessa, Silvermist, Rosetta, and Vidia are making themselves a nice relaxing "hot spring" in a teacup. It's just a shame they didn't let Fawn know what they were up to. (On "Bake Off" DVD.)
Shooting Stars (1:20)
Disney Video; YouTube
Lizzy and her dad (from The Great Fairy Rescue) are lying on the grass, watching shooting stars. But Lizzy knows they're really fairies. (On "Return to Never Land" DVD.)
Tink'n About Animals (1:54)
Disney Video; Disney Wiki; YouTube
Fawn sings a song (sort of to the tune of Turkey in the Straw) about a bunch of different terms for groups of animals. It's pretty cute. (On Legend of the NeverBeast DVD.)
Treasure Chest (1:31)
Tink goes to the beach to look for pirate treasure. Vidia goes along to relax, but ends up having a very unrelaxing time. (On "The Pirate Fairy" DVD.)
Volley Bug (1:16)
Disney Video
Fawn, Tink, Silvermist, Iridessa, and Rosetta play volleyball- with a curled up bug as a ball. Meanwhile, all the other bugs watch and await their turn to be the ball (their oohs and aahs remind me of the minions from Despicable Me). (On "Return to Never Land" and "Bake Off" DVDs.)
