This was the first short film from Pixar (I don't count The Adventures of André & Wally B. as a Pixar short), made in 1986. I didn't see it until 2022, but I have long been familiar with the title character, as it is Pixar Studios' mascot. The short was a breakthrough in computer animation, so it's historically significant. I find the film reasonably entertaining, but still pretty simplistic, so watching it from a modern perspective, I feel like the story is just okay. (I feel kind of bad about not liking it more than I do, but I'm still very glad to have finally seen it.) It's available in two collections, "Tiny Toy Stories" (1996) and "Pixar Short Films Collection vol. 1" (2007), as well as the 2000 release of Toy Story 2 (I'm not sure about later releases). It was also released theatrically with Toy Story 2 in 1999.

The film has no dialogue. There's an "adult" Luxo lamp (Luxo is a real brand that I probably wouldn't be aware of if not for this film) that plays with its "child", Luxo Jr. The two of them sort of toss a ball back and forth, until Luxo Jr. jumps on it and accidentally deflates it. I guess I won't say how the film ends, but it's kind of cute, I guess. And I don't know what else to say.
