This 2017 short film was presented by Alter in 2020.

A girl named Alice has a fight with her mother, who doesn't want her reading a book about fairies that her father had given her. (It's unclear to me whether the father is dead, or divorced, or what, but anyway he doesn't seem to be in their lives anymore.) After her mother takes the book away, Alice runs off into the woods, and her mother sends Alice's older sister, Mina, to go bring her back. On the way back, Mina steps into a fairy ring, which traps her in what seems to be another realm, where a fairy tries to eat her.

Well, I don't want to say how it ends, but it's always a nice change of pace to see evil fairies represented in the media. (There's a similarly-themed short film I also watched on Alter, called Latched, which I thought was more straight-up horror than this one, which I'd say is more a mix of horror and fantasy. Though maybe I could have said the same of "Latched", I dunno.) Anyway, this is a decent film. I liked the story and the two main characters, and the fairy looked cool. Or whatever. Nice mix of ethereal and creepy, I guess is what I mean.
