Eureka! (20:02)

This 2019 short film/episode was presented by Dust in 2022.
This was apparently meant to be the first episode of an anthology web series called "Neurotica.", but there were never any more episodes, so now it just stands as a short film. Anyway, Karen Gillan plays a woman named Chloe, who doesn't have a real job, though she does pose for pictures for a skeevy website run by a guy named Glenn (Karan Soni), and she crashes on her sister Hailey's (Jillian Bell) couch. One day she has a dream in which she meets a guy named Jon (Jon Bass). He tells her he's... a member of some kind of race of interdimensional beings, or whatever, and they provide humanity with all of its good ideas. They gave Chloe an idea two years ago, and are upset that she hasn't done anything with it. What is the idea, you ask? You'll have to watch the short to find out.
Honestly, I don't want to reveal any more of the plot, but it was kind of a toss-up whether I'd put my review under "comedy" or "weird", because the story is definitely both. But I figured I'd split the difference and put it under "quirky", instead. Because it's that, too. I definitely found it amusing, and... I don't know what else to say, except that I like the cast, especially Gillan.
