This 2020 short film was presented by Alter in 2022.

This is a comedy horror short film, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to list it under either of those categories or not. I was thinking maybe I'd put it under "weird/surreal", but ultimately decided to go with "quirky". But really any of those categories would work. It's set in a world where everyone is some type of clown. There's a party with a live band, and one of the attendees is a mime who is romantically interested in the band's lead singer, Mindy. Then a masked killer shows up and starts wiping the makeup off of the partygoers' faces, which kills them. The mime gets away and brings the situation to the attention of a local sheriff, who returns to the scene of the crime with the mime. Eventually the identity of the killer is revealed, and there's a struggle between him and the mime, using invisible weapons. It's all very weird, and also quite charming. I'm not sure how memorable I'll find the film, but I'm definitely glad to have seen it.
