This 2024 short film was presented by Dust in 2025.

Set sometime in the future, we meet a loving couple named Diego and Marcus. One day, they turn on the news to learn that there is an impending war between Earth and the space colonies, so anyone living on Earth who wasn't born there will be deported. Diego comes from a colony called Alpha 27 (or 27 Alpha, as it's called at one point). He's terrified of being forced to leave his home on Earth, and of losing Marcus.

I won't say any more about the plot, but it's a very dramatic and moving story, and sadly all too relevant in the United States in 2025. I'm afraid it probably isn't going to change any minds that are already made up about immigration issues, but for those of us who are aware of and horrified by the reality that immigrants (including legal ones) face in this country (and in other countries), it's very poignant.
