Echo Torch (20:23)

This film was made by the writer/director of the webseries The Mercury Men, and it definitely has a similar feel, though this story is much more intimate. A man creates a sort of lamp (the titular "echo torch") that casts a blue light, which illuminates... supernatural stuff, I guess. Like, at first I thought it was showing images of the past, but it may actually be showing ghosts in the present (even if it seems like they're reliving the past). I dunno... there's also something very dangerous, a humanoid figure, but I'm not sure what it's even supposed to be. A monster of some kind, or maybe a vengeful ghost. In any event, it's obviously able to have a physical effect on the real world. So the film has a bit of a horror element to it. But mostly the ghosts that we see (and the music that we hear, for the lamp also seems to affect an old record player) are of a nicer variety.
Anyway... I'm not positive that I entirely understood the plot (there's no dialogue). But I liked the echo torch itself; it seems like some very retro-futuristic technology, almost steampunk or something. So that's cool. And the story is touching, even if a bit confusing. (I mean, it seemed to me like there were two separate stories that didn't really fit together.) I dunno what else to say, but I'm glad to have seen the film.
