Please Love Me Forever (27:20)
IMDb; YouTube

This is a French film, with English subtitles. A 14-year-old girl named Lili lives with her mother, Claudie, who frequently replaces her own facial features with new ones grown by a gardener. Claudie seems overprotective of Lili, and especially warns her against falling in love. But Lili is already in love with a boy named Lyesse, who is unaware of her feelings, and only sees her as a friend. When Lili learns that he doesn't feel the same way... she tries to change him.

That's all I want to say about the plot. I watched it on Screamfest's YouTube channel, which calls it a short horror film, but while it does have a horror-ish element to it, I think of it more as a weird or surreal short film. I really like the atmosphere of the film, and it's definitely an interesting, fantastical (and ultimately disturbing) story. It deals with obsession, and unrequited love, in a fairly original way. I couldn't manage to like the film as much as it perhaps deserves, but I did like it. And I'm really not sure why I didn't like it more.
