Caution: potential spoilers.

This is the second direct-to-video sequel to The Lost Boys, following Lost Boys: The Tribe. It came out in 2010, but I didn't see it until 2019. And I must say, while it's nowhere near as good as the original, it's certainly better than "The Tribe."

It begins with a scene set five years ago, with Edgar and Alan Frog stopping a vampire killing. But in the process, Alan gets turned into a vampire, himself. (Or at least a half-vampire, whatever.) In the present, Edgar lives alone in a trailer, and he's about to be evicted, because he's behind on his rent. So he goes to a comic shop to sell some of his comics. A friend of his named Zoe works there. Later, a woman named Gwen Lieber, who writes Twilight-like books, hires Edgar to rescue her brother, Peter, from a group of vampires who travel around hosting raves. At these raves, the vampires distribute a designer drug that is actually just vampire blood, to turn all the party-goers into vampires and raise an army. And the next rave is supposedly going to be in San Cazador, where Edgar currently lives. Gwen also hires a reality TV star named Lars Van Goetz, who doesn't believe in vampires, but is perfectly happy to pretend to fight them for his show. And they also get some help in their mission from Zoe (who is probably my favorite character in the movie). And they get a bunch of new weapons designed to use against vampires. And Edgar also gets some help from Alan.

Well, there are some plot points I don't even want to get into, as well as some plot twists. The movie is kind of redonkulous, but in a mostly good way. I'd say it's the kind of movie that manages to be fun mostly because it's aware of its own campiness, and leans into it... but without completely abandoning at least a semblance of seriousness.
