This is the soundtrack to the movie Watchmen. It was released in 2009.

1. "Desolation Row", by My Chemical Romance: I'm not really familiar with the original, by Bob Dylan, but this cover is a lot shorter, and it's punk. I guess it's cool.

2. "Unforgettable", by Nat King Cole: A beautiful classic.

3. "The Times They Are a-Changin'", by Bob Dylan: Another classic, and I'm glad there's one song on the album that's actually by Dylan.

4. "The Sound of Silence", by Simon & Garfunkel: Honestly, it's kind of pointless for me to keep calling each individual song a "classic". They're almost all classics. In the movie, this plays during a funeral, which is kind of appropriate.

5. "Me and Bobby McGee", by Janis Joplin: I dunno what to say except that it's another classic, and like all these songs, a good fit for the movie.

6. "I'm Your Boogie Man", by KC & The Sunshine Band: Funky.

7. "You're My Thrill", by Billie Holiday: I'm not really familiar with this song, but it's nice.

8. "Pruit Igoe" & "Prophecies", by The Philip Glass Ensemble: This is the longest track, at 8:37, though if the entirety of both pieces of music were played it would be nearly twice as long. It's modern classical music, and rather eerie. I'm not really familiar with it, but I like it. It's a good fit for Dr. Manhattan.

9. "Hallelujah", by Leonard Cohen: This is the one track where I really remember the scene it's from. It plays when Dan and Laurie have sex. (Wikipedia says the scene was meant to be ironic and ridiculous, but I don't recall getting that impression from it at all.) In any event, it's a good song. I think I like every version I've heard, but it's good to have the original here.

10. "All Along the Watchtower", by Jimi Hendrix: I'm not sure if I've heard the original by Bob Dylan. I probably have, but this version is more familiar to me, even though it's not a song I'm super familiar with by any artist. It's pretty good, and fits the film well.

11. "Ride of the Valkyries", by Budapest Symphony Orchestra: A piece of classical music that I've always quite liked.

12. "Pirate Jenny", by Nina Simone: This was an inspiration for the Tales of the Black Freighter portion of the graphic novel. It's kinda creepy, but cool.

Well, not all the songs from the movie are on the soundtrack, but of course most of them are here, and they're all really good. (The Watchmen wiki lists "99 Luftballons" on the soundtrack, but it's not. And I think it would feel rather out of place if it were here.) The songs are mostly some pretty classic stuff, as I've previously noted. And it's all cool, and it all fits the movie really well, and... yeah, I can't think what else to say. I just really like the whole album.
