This is Lavigne's first album, released in 2002. A remixed 20th anniversary edition was released in 2022, but I haven't heard that. The liner notes contain handwritten song lyrics that are almost too small for me to read. I feel like this album might fit better under some other genre like pop or alternative, but I'm putting it under pop-punk because of Lavigne's influence on that genre.

1. "Losing Grip": I guess this was the fourth single off the album, but it doesn't sound familiar to me. It definitely sounds more rock than either pop or punk. I like it.

2. "Complicated": This is the first single, and the song I remember Lavigne best for. I like it a lot, both the sound and the lyrics. I'd say it sounds more pop than punk or anything.

3. "Sk8er Boi": The second single, which I think might be what a lot of people know her best for. The first track on the album that I'd really call "pop-punk". It's a fun song.

4. "I'm with You": The third single. I made an AMV with this song in 2006, but I don't have it online right now. It's mostly a quieter song than the other ones on the album (though it does get loud in parts), and it's rather sad. Probably my second favorite of her songs.

5. "Mobile": This sounds like the kind of song you'd hear in a teen rom-com. That's just really what it makes me think of. I like it.

6. "Unwanted": This is another song that sounds more like rock. It's cool. The backing instrumentation partly makes me think of a James Bond theme.

7. "Tomorrow": This is one of the lighter songs. It's okay.

8. "Anything but Ordinary": It's kinda fun.

9. "Things I'll Never Say": It's kinda fun, but tinged with regret.

10. "My World": It's kinda fun.

11. "Nobody's Fool": This one's partly kinda hip-hop and partly pop. It's kinda fun, but I feel iffy about the parts that are kinda rap. Not saying they're bad, but I think she's better at pop-rock.

12. "Too Much to Ask": It's not bad, but the story it tells is one of disappointment, which I wouldn't call fun.

13. "Naked": The nakedness is metaphorical; the song is about being emotionally open, and how good that can feel.

So... yeah, there's not much on here that I'd call "pop-punk", which is a bit disappointing. But I did think all the songs are good, even if I'm only really going to remember three of them. It's a fun album.
