This started in 1989, hosted by Casey Kasem, who had previously hosted American Top 40. It ran until 1998, when Casey left the show and returned to hosting AT40. By that point, I'm sure I had long since stopped listening to top 40 shows of any kind. But I'm sure I was a fan of the show for a few years, at least. I guess I don't have much of anything specific to say about the show, except that I thought it was kind of more... sincere, I guess... than AT40 (when that show was hosted by the somewhat snarkier Shadoe Stevens). So, I guess it was like comfort food, aurally speaking. Not my preference, at the time, but I liked it well enough.
