So there's this 5th grade boy named Andy, who frequently gets into trouble at school, along with his best friend, Dulce. Andy's sister, Laurel, tries to make their parents see that he's naughty, but they don't believe it. Then on Christmas morning, Andy is surprised to find that Santa hasn't brought him the gaming console he asked for. Dulce also didn't get the bow and arrows she asked Santa for. So Andy comes up with a plan to go to the North Pole and steal the gifts that they think should have been theirs. To do this, he puts together a team of kids who are also (mostly) on Santa's naughty list, who each have their own particular skills, and didn't get the presents they asked for, either. He starts with a boy named Lewis, who actually isn't on the naughty list, but wants to help anyway. He's the tech guy. Then they recruit a girl named Ha-Yoon to be their getaway driver, an "animal whisperer" named Rose to help with the reindeer, a fashion designer named Jon Anthony to make them all elf disguises, a younger boy named Albert whose talent is being cute, and a gymnast named Bethany, who is Laurel's rival. When Bethany backs out of the mission, Andy cons Laurel into going as a replacement. The final member of the Naughty Nine is the only adult on the team, a pilot named Bruno, who was in trouble at work for having claimed to see a flying reindeer, and agrees to fly them to the North Pole so he can get proof he's not crazy. Incidentally, I feel like most of these kids are too old to believe in Santa Claus, and Laurel herself doesn't. But whatever, it turns out the rest of them were right to believe. (Because of course. There'd be no movie if they were wrong, or at least it would be a very different sort of movie.)

Anyway... I don't want to spoil any details of the mission itself, or what happens afterward. But it's a reasonably entertaining movie. And I was pleasantly surprised that so many characters all got distinct personalities. And of course Andy learns a valuable lesson in the end, and his relationship with Laurel improves. Then one year later, the movie ends with what seems like a sequel hook, but I don't know if there will ever be a sequel. It would be fun if there were, though.
