This was created by Mike Judge, previously known for creating Beavis & Butt-head, a show I never watched much nor liked much. But this show was pretty good. I never really watched it as much as I should have, but I always liked it well enough when I did. Anyway, it's about Hank Hill (voiced by Judge), who lives in Arlen, Texas and sells propane and propane accessories, and takes his job like uber-seriously. Of course it's also about his wife Peggy (Kathy Najimy), a substitute Spanish teacher; their son Bobby (Pamela Adlon), who wants to be a stand up comic; their niece Luanne (Brittany Murphy); and um... their odd assortment of friends, including Dale Gribble (Johnny Hardwick), Bill Dauterive (Stephen Root), and Boomhauer (also voiced by Judge), among lots of other characters. I dunno what to say, really, but it's a good show, amusing, with good characters. It's a fairly simple, family comedy, I guess...

The show originally ran for 13 seasons, from 1997 to 2010, most of that on FOX, but the last for episodes were in first run syndication. In 2025, the show returned for a 14th season on Hulu.
