I'm afraid I never loved this Saturday morning cartoon, but it was kinda fun. I'm also not familiar with the comic books on which it's based (from Milestone, an imprint of DC). Anyway, Static, whose real name is Virgil Hawkins, is a superhero with static electrical powers. He has a friend named Richie, who eventually becomes a superhero himself, called Gear. There are supervillains called Bang Babies. Static is a Bang Baby, too, I guess...

Well, let me clarify. Bang babies are people who were exposed to this big chemical explosion or whatever, and they all got different superpowers because of it. But of course, not all of them became villains. Some, like Static, might become heroes, but they seem to be in the minority. Some would probably rather not use their powers at all. And some may just be confused; even some former villains might later become heroes. But the media and the public may not always treat any Bang babies like anything other than a menace, even good guys like Static. So, Virgil has to learn to deal with his powers, and fight crime even while not everyone approves. And he has to deal with friends and family, and school, and girls... all the normal teenage stuff, as well as the superhero stuff. And... I'm afraid I dunno what else to say.
