I don't remember this well enough to rate it.

Lorne Greene's New Wilderness, on CTV (Canada) / syndicated
IMDb; TVarchive.ca; Wikipedia

I used to watch this when I was a kid. Sometimes. Not much to say about it, really. It was a wilderness show hosted by Lorne Greene (who was best known for starring in "Bonanza" and the original "Battlestar Galactica," and much later as the basis for a joke a different Lorne once made in an episode of Angel). I suppose there are plenty of cable channels nowadays on which you could see lots of different stuff of this type, you know, educational stuff about various wildlife. Anyway, I once wrote a very short story for a grade school assignment. It was about buying kangaroos as pets, and I wrote that this was the kangaroo's favorite show. That was pretty random, huh?

I also want to mention that there are bits of Vanessa Carlton's song "A Thousand Miles" that I thought reminded me of the theme music from this show. However, when I went to look for the show's theme online, I found something different. I was like "Oh yeah, I remember that. That's not what I was thinking of." So I started thinking, maybe the theme music I was thinking of was from some other nature show. This led me to do more searching, and now I vaguely recall the existence of a few other things I had completely forgotten about, including Wild America, Nature, Wild, Wild World of Animals, and Wild Kingdom. But I'm fairly sure none of them were what I was thinking of. Actually, I think it's still most likely that "New Wilderness" had more than one theme over the years, and I just can't find the one I'm thinking of. But it's also possible there's some other show I still can't remember. Sigh. I hate not having total recall.
