Caution: spoilers
This movie follows the microseries Marvel Rising: Initiation, but the main plot of that series doesn't come up here, and I almost feel like it never happened, because it seemed to me as if Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl met Daisy "Quake" Johnson and Rayshaun "Patriot" Lucas for the first time here, but maybe I'm wrong about that. Anyway... it's a pretty decent movie, even if I don't rate it quite as highly as I did the microseries. That might just be that I have higher expectations for a movie.
So, um, stuff happens that I probably don't need to get into. But one day, MM and SG stop a teenager named Dante, who had just stolen a hot dog. But it turns out that he's an Inhuman with flame powers. (Various sources also refer to him as "Inferno," but I don't believe that name was ever mentioned in the movie.) He's being pursued by another Inhuman named Victor, aka Exile. And um... soon SHIELD agents Quake and Patriot get involved. Both Dante and Victor get away, though. Later, Dante steals a motorcycle that belongs to an Inhuman named America Chavez, so she chases him, as do MM, SQ, Quake, and Patriot. And then there's a major accident that diverts everyone's attention from the pursuit.
Eventually, we learn that Exile is working for a Kree named Hala the Accuser (Ming-Na Wen), collecting Inhumans to serve as warriors for the Kree Empire. And a lot more stuff happens, which ultimately results in everyone, plus Captain Marvel, working together to rescue all the abducted Inhumans. (This includes a huge teleporting dog named Lockjaw, whom I first saw in the live-action TV series Inhumans, though that's not part of this continuity.)
And I guess I don't really want to say any more about the movie's plot. But I thought it was all reasonably fun.
