The Secret Garden, on CBS

A Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation. This is based on a book I've never read. There have of course been several adaptations before this 1987 TV movie and since, but this is the first one I ever saw. (The only other version I've seen is a 1993 theatrical movie, which I didn't see until 2013.) In any event, there's this young British girl named Mary Lennox, who goes to stay with her uncle, Archibald Craven. She meets this bedridden boy named Colin. He's supposedly sick and lame and whatever, but the girl eventually gets him to get out of bed. And there's this older boy named Dickon, who seemed kinda cool or whatever. And um, there was this old garden, quite run down from neglect, but once upon a time it was quite beautiful, with all the trees and flowers and whatnot. But I guess Colin's father had ordered it closed off when his wife died, because it was her garden or whatever. Then these kids all find the place and fix it up and stuff. That's about all I can tell you. I don't remember it well at all, but I'd really like to see it again, someday. And then I'd write a better review.
