Did I mention that Jim Henson is a god? Okay, anyway, this is one of the most classic, essential shows you absolutely, without fail, have got to watch. It wasn't always great, but it was often enough. And besides, it's... classic! Muppets are the coolest, the funniest, the craziest.... Hmmm, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo the Great (my favorite!), Rowlf, Swedish Chef, Sam the American Eagle, all the members of the Electric Mayhem, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker, Scooter, Statler and Waldorf, Rizzo the Rat, and tons of others.... Ah, such wonderful insanity! Muppets are one of the greatest things ever created in the history of the world, and that is not hyperbole.
What else can be said? Oh... yeah... I suppose I should mention it was a variety show, hosted by Kermit, with comedy sketches and musical performances and great guest stars, where we also get to see what's going on behind the scenes as the Muppets are putting the show on.... It also spawned plenty of movies. I should say a lot more, but I'm afraid I don't remember it as well as I should. I totally need to get the DVDs sometime. (Or watch it on Disney+.)
