S.C.I.F.I. World, on Sci-Fi Channel
Wikipedia
This is something I'd completely forgotten about, until I saw it on Wikipedia's list of programming blocks. It lasted from July 2000 to December 2001. Each day of the week had a different themed sub-block based on the initials S.C.I.F.I. ("Superhero Land" on Mondays, "Creature Land" on Tuesdays, "Intergalactic Land" on Wednesdays, "Fantastic Land" on Thursdays, and "Inhuman Land" on Fridays). I guess the idea had the potential to be kind of neat. Unfortunately, the categories were all so vague that many shows aired in several different sub-blocks, so it's hard to see why the network even bothered trying to create categories in the first place. Anyway, I was going to look through Wikipedia's lists of shows in the different sub-blocks, to remind myself what I might have seen. But now that I've done that, I'm not sure it's worth bothering to list anything here. There are several shows I'm quite familiar with, which I know I saw before and/or after this block ever existed, whether on Sci-Fi or on other networks or in syndication. Most of them I can't imagine I would have bothered watching in this block, but some of them I may have. And there are a few shows I barely remember existed, but I know I saw at some point, briefly. But I don't recall if it was during this block or not. So, either way... I guess I don't feel like saying anything specific about the block. But at least I'm glad to have been reminded that the block even existed. I guess.
