This originally ran for three seasons, from 1992-95, with a two-park special, "The Last Shout", in 1996. At the time, I believe that was considered the series finale. But the series was revived for two more seasons in 2001-03, with another special in 2004. There were three 20th anniversary specials in 2011-12. A feature film was released in 2016.

There are these two best friends, Edina Monsoon (Jennifer Saunders) and Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley). They live a rather lush life, which I mean in at least two different ways. Well anyway, they're both quite self-involved and spoiled and childish and stuff. Patsy is also very rude and crude and pretty much responsible for leading Eddy down the dark path. Eddy has a daughter, Saffron (Julia Sawalha), who is much more sensible and very smart, and a bit of a prude. Saffy and Patsy hate each other. Saffy is often very annoyed at and embarrassed by her mother. And Eddy doesn't really get Saffy, but she does love her (in her own bumbling way). But anyway, it's a really funny show and that's about all I can say about it. Except that it would probably be best if you were drunk or high or something while you watch it. ...I kind of feel like putting it in the quirky category, but... not quite.
