Michael J. Fox is, of course, famous for his 1980s NBC sitcom Family Ties, as well as later work in things like the "Back to the Future" movies and the 1990s ABC sitcom Spin City (among many other things). In the early 90s he developed Parkinson's disease, though he didn't go public with it until the late 90s. Since then, as far as I know, he's taken on a lot less acting jobs than he used to, and eventually his roles consisted mostly of guest spots on shows where he played characters with Parkinson's. But in 2013, he's gone back to starring in a regular series, playing a character who, of course, has Parkinson's. Some humor may be derived from his condition, as Fox himself seems to have a sense of humor about it. But for the most part, it's a typical sitcom focusing on his character, Mike Henry, as well as his family and career. Mike was a beloved news anchor in New York, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's and then quit his job to spend time with his family. But after a few years, by the time the series starts, his family's gotten used to his condition and pretty much moved past it to the point that they're anxious for him to get out of the house and back to work. So his wife, Annie, conspires with Mike's best friend and former boss, Harris Green, to get Mike to take his old job back.

Mike and Annie have a son named Ian, a college drop-out who's trying to start an internet company. (He's apparently very smart, but acts like a goofy slacker.) And they have a daughter named Eve, who's in high school. And a younger son named Graham. Also Mike has a sister named Leigh. And there's a young woman named Kay Costa, who becomes Mike's new assistant or whatever, when he goes back to work. And there's another reporter named Susan Rodriguez-Jones (Anne Heche), who works at the same station and is a rival of Mike's. I really don't know what more to say about any of these people. But I think the show is fairly amusing, and I like most of the characters well enough. (My favorite is probably Eve.) Anyway, it went on hiatus in January 2014, after fifteen episodes. It was supposed to come back sometime to finish the season, and in fact 22 episodes have been made, and aired outside the U.S. The missing episodes also appear to be available on Amazon's IMDb channel, so maybe I'll check them out sometime.
