A Capitol Fourth, on PBS
IMDb; PBS; TV Tango; Wikipedia

This is an annual Fourth of July concert, which began in 1981. The title is a pun, of course, because the concert is performed on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building (mainly by the National Symphony Orchestra). It also includes lots of guest performers each year, and concludes with a fireworks display. That's pretty much all I can really tell you. It's something I've been aware of for pretty much as long as I can remember, but I don't think I've ever actually watched the entire program. I usually try to catch at least a bit of it, but there are always other things to do... like channel surf between this and other Fourth of July annual specials, or watch a DVD, or watch fireworks being set off wherever I actually am. But still, I think of the program as sort of an iconic part of the holiday, whether I watch it or not.
