Halloween Is Grinch Night, on ABC

This 1977 special is presumably a prequel to the 1966 special How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Despite the title, it doesn't really have anything to do with Halloween, which may be why home video releases have referred to it as "It's Grinch Night" or simply "Grinch Night". I've wanted to see it for several years, and finally got around to it the day after Halloween in 2025. I don't feel like saying much about the plot, because there hardly is any plot. And because I basically thought the whole special was pretty bad. In fact, I considered not watching the whole thing, but I stuck it out til the end. I didn't like any of the songs, or the lazy rhyming, the narration, or the voice acting, or the animation. It's hard to believe this was actually written by Dr. Seuss, but apparently it was. It has none of the charm of the Christmas special. The whole thing is just pretty pointless, in my opinion. Still, I'm glad I finally watched it, just so that I can stop wanting to.
