This is a Halloween special based on the movie Monsters vs. Aliens, which at the time the special aired, I hadn't seen yet. So anyway, I didn't know any of the characters or the backstory or whatever. But it was still kinda fun. I guess these monsters, including Susan Murphy, B.O.B., Dr. Cockroach, the Missing Link, and Insectosaurus, all work for the government to fight aliens. And then, a spaceship comes along and does something to a pumpkin patch. So the monsters have to go investigate. And it happens to be in Susan's hometown, so she stops by to see her parents. And the other monsters go trick-or-treating. And eventually they have a big battle against these mutant pumpkins. There's really not much else to say, aside from some character development for Dr. Cockroach, I guess, which didn't mean a lot to me, cuz like I said, I don't know any of these characters yet. But it seemed interesting. Or something. I dunno.

Anyway, it was kind of a funny special and stuff. I'll probably try to watch it again someday, after having seen the movie, and maybe then I'll like it more than I did the first time. We'll see.

There's a twist at the end of the special that was followed up on a couple years after this first aired, in the short film Night of the Living Carrots.
