Play It Again, Dick, on CW Seed

This is a meta comedy about Ryan Hansen trying to make a spin-off of Veronica Mars, featuring his character from that show, Dick Casablancas. And of course he tries to get his former castmates involved in that (fictitious) project, which means they make appearances in this show. The series ran for 8 episodes, and for about half of them we just saw the show-within-a-show in the planning stages. But over the last few episodes, we see the show itself, "Private Dick," in which Dick is now a P.I., and has to solve a series of murders of various characters from the original show. And it is probably the most hilariously awful production I've ever seen. Oh, and even in the behind the scenes stuff (which we see because Ryan has hired a crew to make a documentary about the making of his show, like for a DVD bonus feature or something), the real-life actors are mostly playing ridiculous caricatures of themselves. (Though Kristen Bell and Jason Dohring don't come off badly.) And I don't know what else to say. It was all a really fun, tongue-in-cheek series, but redonkulous enough that I'm not sure how much more of it I could have stood to watch.
Note: the series was eventually removed from CW Seed, and can now be purchased online at YouTube, iTunes, or Google Play.
