It begins just after a girl has killed her family, at the behest of a voice in her head. Later, she takes one of their hearts someplace where various other people have gathered, having brought body parts of their own sacrifices. But the first girl is the only one who's followed directions exactly, so... I guess she's the chosen one. But for what, I couldn't say. I liked the short well enough, but I wish there were more to it. It would have been a good start to a series, or something.
