Lahela Kamealoha (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) is a 16-year-old doctor living in Hawaii with her parents, Dr. Clara Hannon (who works at the same hospital as Lahela) and Benny (who runs a shave ice truck), her older brother Kai, and younger brother Brian Patrick. Because of her young age and occupation, some people have nicknamed her "Doogie", based on the show Doogie Howser, M.D., though she doesn't like it much and most of the time people just call her Lahela. She has a best friend named Steph Denisco, who has a crush on Kai. And she has a surfer boyfriend named Walter Taumata (though it's not until episode 4 that they define their relationship). Other doctors at the hospital include Lahela's friends Charles Zeller and Noelani Nakayama, and a heart surgeon named Dr. Lee (Ronny Chieng).

There isn't really much I can say specifically about the show.. It just deals with Lahela's juggling of her responsibilities as a doctor and her attempts to lead a normal teenage life. Also, the hospital's chief of staff, Dr. Choi (Randall Park) is going to be leaving for another position elsewhere. So for most of the season, Clara and Dr. Lee vie to win his position when he leaves. Anyway, I find the show fairly entertaining, largely because of the likability of the main character. And for now, I don't know what else to say.
