Morganville: The Series, on YouTube / Geek & Sundry
G&S Wiki; IMDb; official website; TV Tropes; Wikipedia; YouTube

This is an adaptation of a series of novels called "The Morganville Vampires," which I've never read. The first season consists of six episodes, each around 10 minutes long. By the end of the season, there are more questions than answers, so I'm really hoping there'll be a second season. If and when we do start learning what the hell is actually going on, I might rate the show more highly. For now, it seems like it has potential, but I haven't managed to like it as much as I hoped to. But I should say that it has a couple of familiar stars, including Robert Picardo and Amber Benson (Tara from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, though I don't really recognize her in this). Everyone else is unfamiliar to me.

So anyway, there's this girl named Claire Danvers, who gains early admission to a college in Morganville, Texas. Soon after arriving, a clique led by a girl named Monica starts harassing her, so she moves out of her dorm and into a place called the Glass House. Her new roommates include guys named Michael Glass and Shane Collins, and a girl named Eve Rosser. And Claire learns from them that vampires are real, and there are a lot of them in Morganville, and some vampires work for humans (in exchange for blood). And one vampire works for Monica, so that's a problem. A bigger problem is that the town's founder, Amelie (Benson), has taken an interest in Claire. And there's a power struggle between Amelie and a guy named Oliver (Picardo). Oliver runs a coffee shop called Common Grounds, where Eve works. And we eventually learn that both Oliver and Amelie are vampires. And we learn that Michael died six months before the series starts, a fact which he's been hiding from his friends. (He's not a ghost, but he's neither alive nor dead, and he can't leave the house.) And um... I probably won't say anything else unless there's a second season.
