This is a story that consists of six episodes, each a few minutes long. The story takes place between seasons 3 and 4 of The Good Place. All six episodes were released on NBC.com and the NBC app on September 13, 2019, a couple of weeks before the start of season 4. They were released on YouTube on September 30. (However, I didn't get around to watching the webisodes until about a week after the fourth season ended.)

The first episode begins with a recap scene from the season 3 finale, which establishes an experiment that will be played out in season 4, to potentially save humanity from being erased from existence by Judge Gen. But the Bad Place's demons, led by Shawn (Marc Evan Jackson) will try to make the good guys fail at the experiment, which involves morally improving four dead people, without those people knowing what's going on. (They'll all be told they made it into the Good Place, with no memory of having been anywhere else between their deaths and the start of the experiment.) Shawn is allowed by Gen to choose the four unwitting objects of the experiment. These six webisodes are about him and a committee of demons picking the candidates from all the dead people in the Bad Place (which is a hard job, because there are billions to choose from, and Gen set strict rules). The committee includes Val (Jama Williamson, whom I know from a recurring role on Single Parents), Bambadjan, Glenn, and Gayle (Amy Okuda). (All of these demons had been seen before on the TV series, though I'm afraid Glenn was the only one I remembered having seen.) Anyway... it isn't until the final webisode that the committee began to make any real progress. Mostly the webisodes were just a workplace comedy about not making progress, for various reasons. But it was all rather hilarious (if you're a fan of the show). So, I'm glad I finally watched it, and I don't really mind not having seen it earlier.
