Scaredy Cats, on Netflix
IMDb; Netflix Wiki; TV Tango; Wikipedia
On Willa Ward's twelfth birthday, her father, Neil, gives her an amulet that had belonged to her mother, who is no longer around. She and her best friends, Lucy and Scout, soon learn that the amulet is magic, and that Willa's mother, Willow (Laura Harris), was a good witch. And now Willa starts learning magic, herself. There are also two bad witches named Wilma and Wanda, who have been searching for the amulet ever since Willa was born. Now that Willa has activated it, they realize she has it, and spend most of the 9-episode series trying to steal it from her. Willa and her friends also have a teacher named Ms. Juniper, who turns out to be a "witch-storian", who knows a lot about witches. They get some help from her, as well as from a talking cat named Pete and a talking rat named Fink. The show's title comes from the fact that Willa and her friends find a magic potion that can turn them into cats, which they often find reasons to do. In the end, the girls have to try to stop Wilma and Wanda (as well as their warlock nephew) from taking over their town on Halloween night.
It's a fairly cute series, albeit a bit cheesy... especially Wilma and Wanda, who are just ridiculous. I couldn't manage to like the show a lot, probably because it's obviously made for kids. But it wasn't bad, and I'm glad I watched it.
