The Simpsons: O C'mon All Ye Faithful, on Disney+
Christmas Specials Wiki; Disney+ (see "Exclusives"); IMDb; TV Tropes; Wikia; Wikipedia

This special is an episode of the TV series The Simpsons. It was released on December 17, 2024, exclusively on Disney+. (I have no idea if it's ever going to air on TV.) I haven't watched the Simpsons on a regular basis (other than the Treehouse of Horror episodes) for quite a few years, but I wanted to watch this, anyway. Actually, at first I thought it would be just another of the Simpsons short films that are occasionally released on Disney+, but it turned out to be a 45-minute special. And I liked it well enough.

A British mentalist named Derren Brown comes to Springfield to make a show in which he and his crew use psychology to help the town get back its Christmas spirit. One thing he does is hypnotize Homer, trying to make him believe he can actually be good at buying presents. Instead, Homer ends up believing himself to be Santa Claus. Ralph Wiggum becomes his elf. Eventually, Derren hypnotizes Homer again to make him stop believing he's Santa, and this leads to a crisis of Faith for Ned Flanders, who stops believing in God. So the rest of the episode is about him trying to readjust his life to his new lack of faith, while Marge tries to help him regain his faith. I don't want to say how it all ends, but it was a reasonably amusing episode. And I think it does a somewhat decent job of integrating the religious and secular aspects of Christmas.
